Has anyone else here gotten involved in the show Jerico? In the beginning I liked it, it looked facinating but I had missed a bunch and was not clear on what was happening. I purchased the first season on dvd and watched it from start to finish but as I did so I learned something. What started out as an interesting idea soon became something I found less and less pleasure in watching. I think curiosity kept me going but there is an air about it that is ....intense and yet, something I can't put proper words to.
I think what bothered me most about it was that it never mentioned rapture or anything, just many American cities having been bombed , destroyed with nuclear weapons, and the people that were left doing thier best to survive, each town becoming like its own country even to the point of defending itself from other towns.
I do believe that someday there will be chaos like that, and thensome, but what this show left out almost entirely is the element of God and His care for us. They left out the fact that it is just such disasters that tend to fill churches afterwards. In the whole series that I saw, all of season one, I only remember one show with any mention of a minister and he was not doing much. Perhaps it is the lack of such hope, the removal of God from the picture for all intense purposes, that is so disturbing.
The series ended that first season with a show that left the audience expecting more the next season, and then they did not come back with new shows. Finally they have brought closure to it but I am afraid the air of it has not improved. From what I understand the program will have its series finale sometime this spring. It was a facinating idea but I think it really needed more hope . But, in the eyes of the world, those that do not have Christ in thier hearts, the future likely does look hopeless and dismal. Praise God HE is our hope and our future no matter what is going on around us!

Well, if you do decide you really want to see for yourself just let me know. I have the first season on dvd. I think they got a lot more intense, went more downhill this second season. It is not as bazaar as Lost but still strange. no offense.
