Another seed catalog yesterday.  Even the kiddos are getting excited about the garden already!  The Gurney's catalog has a certificate for $20 off my order--sounds tempting!

$20?  Mine has $25!  Maybe it's because it's been awhile since I ordered and they are super tempting me! Rolling Eyes

They must like you better! Tounge  The Henry Field's catalog has a coupon for $25 off if I order $50 worth of merchandise.

I'm considering more black raspberry bushes....or blueberry bushes for the free offer.  What about you?

For my vegetable garden, I'd like to try some of the Blue Lake pole beans.  I grew the Kentucky Wonder pole beans last year for the first time, and I really like having the plants off the ground, but I didn't really care for the variety of bean.

I'm also very interested in trying some blueberries.  We've never had any before, and I'm not quite sure how they would do in our soil.

There are so many things in the catalog that I would love to try my hand at growing!  I just don't have the time or the money to do it!  I'm still trying to decide.

Well, I took advantage of the coupon and we are getting about 8 blueberry bushes, 2 elderberry bushes, 5 Scotch Pines, 12 Black Hawk black raspberries,  blueberry food, 3 Nanking bush cherries, and 3 Hansen's bush cherries.

I'm really excited about the fact that my brother's brother in law has bought an old camp at a local lake and it is overrun with baby White Pine trees that are around 4 to 5 feet tall.  In the spring my brother is going to load his pickup truck up with them and he's going to share them with me!!!  I'm so glad that I didn't order them cause the ones I'd order would be less than 2 feet tall.  I can't wait!  I'm trying to restore our woods to being more dense.  This will bring more kinds of birds to us.

Well, many of the strawberries from the containers on the deck are coming back!  There are also dozens of baby plants strewn all over the deck and growing in the cracks.  One of our first projects will be to get them into the garden and make a huge strawberry patch!

The chives and bunching onions are up and coming back also!

We're going to have pine trees!!!!!  My brother's brother-in-law bought an old lake camp and it's over-run with baby white pines!  My brother is going to get a truck load of them this spring!  I'm so excited because I want to add a lot of pines to our woods.

Hopefully today will be our first work time in the big garden.

We did do quite a bit in the garden.  It's still frozen.  Only about an inch is thawed.  A lot of what is thawed is muddy and there's a lot of standing water on the north end of it.  So, it's more swamp at the moment. Rolling Eyes

Well, now I have everything I ordered.  Today I received the remaining blueberry bushes and the elderberry bushes.  I still think it's a bit early...but, I have to get them out of the house and the boxes.

Yesterday we planted 16 white pines in the woods!  They came from the camp.  I guess more will come!
